John McManamy's Newest Book: Perfect End to a Great Day?

"And now for something completely different . . ." I just got done doing a great auto tour of Joshua Tree National Park. I've had no cell or internet service for a while, but tonight I'm camping on BLM land outside the park and I'm connected again. I was thrilled to see that the long awaited latest kindle book by my favorite bipolar writer has finally been released see: Knowledge Is Necessity: My New Kindle Book!!

I immediately put aside Mark Twain's Roughing It and downloaded McManamy's memoir.  I'm hoping for a cross between Frank McCourt's Angela's Ashes and David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest. That's a lot to ask for $4.99, I know, but I have faith!

    Hey, Joanne. I am totally humbled that you put aside Mark Twain for me. I can't think of a more supreme complement. Mark Twain has had a profound influence on me. I hope you enjoy the book. :)

    Is it just that we who grew up near Hartford (where Mark Twain built his wonderful house) love Twain or is he really the best American author ever? How did he write so much humor that's still relevant and funny almost a hundred years later? His burglar alarm story is still completely relevant when applied to modern electronic devices of all sorts.

    I'm definitely enjoying the book. I'm on Chapter Twenty-Five. Not only is it entertaining me, it's even helping me. I'm beginning to understand why I never got a response to a message I sent to Health Central. The man I sent it to must have been paralyzed by obsessive paranoid thoughts about a female cabal's actions during elimination rituals.

    P.S.: I've finished. Thank you. Yes, I read the notes section too and really enjoyed your book. It's been a busy day for other things besides reading, but I'm trying to get my thoughts together to write a review on Amazon for you.

    So glad you enjoyed the book, Joanne, and many thanks for planning to do a review. This will really help. Mark Twain is definitely THE American writer. I've always loved him. The burglar alarm story is hilarious. His complete works was the very first thing I downloaded into my Kindle when I bought it about two years ago. He is dark AND funny. So is Kurt Vonnegut, who idolizes Twain. No doubt where my influences come from. I've visited the Mark Twain house twice. It's a holy site. Gotta run. Need to find a new safe house after revealing the female cabal's secrets. :)
